What is Sylfirm X?

Sylfirm X is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment that repairs the skin from within. Ultra-fine gold-plated needles deliver RF energy at a precise depth, from just below the surface down into the deeper dermis.

What makes it different is that it has two energy modes. Most RF microneedling devices only stimulate collagen. Sylfirm X can also target the abnormal blood vessels and weakened skin structure behind pigmentation and redness, so conditions such as melasma and rosacea can be treated alongside texture, scarring and laxity, without laser or IPL.

  • Treats pigmentation, redness, scarring and ageing in one device
  • Depth and energy adjusted for each concern and area
  • Face, eyes, neck, body and scalp
  • No laser or IPL light
  • Short downtime, usually 1 to 2 days of redness

What Sylfirm X treats

Your practitioner chooses the mode, depth and number of passes for each concern, and often treats more than one in the same session.

Pulsed wave mode

For pigmentation and redness

Short, controlled pulses target the abnormal blood vessels and damaged base layer of the skin that keep melasma, dark patches and redness coming back. This mode treats the cause rather than only the surface.

Continuous wave mode

For scars, texture and firmness

Steady RF energy heats the deeper skin to trigger new collagen and elastin. This mode smooths scars, refines pores, softens lines and firms loose skin.

Pulsed wave

Pigmentation

Dark patches and uneven tone that don’t respond to creams alone.

Melasma

Hormonal brown or grey-brown patches on the cheeks, forehead and upper lip. Sylfirm X targets the vessels and skin damage that feed melasma, helping to lighten it and reduce flare-ups.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Dark marks left behind after spots, ingrown hairs, eczema or injury. Common in darker skin and after acne.

Uneven skin tone and sun damage

Blotchy colour and sun-related pigmentation, for a clearer, more even complexion.

Pulsed wave

Redness and visible vessels

Persistent redness that makes skin look irritated or flushed.

Rosacea redness

Background redness across the cheeks, nose and chin. Treatments calm the overactive vessels behind it.

Flushing and blushing

Skin that reddens easily with heat, exercise, alcohol or emotion.

Broken capillaries

Fine red thread veins (telangiectasia) around the nose and cheeks.

Continuous wave

Scars and texture

Smoother, more refined skin from the deeper layers up.

Acne scars

Rolling, boxcar and shallow ice-pick scars on the cheeks, temples and jawline. New collagen gradually lifts and smooths them.

Enlarged pores

Visibly open pores on the nose, cheeks and forehead, often with oily skin.

Rough texture and dull skin

Uneven, tired-looking skin that has lost its smoothness and glow.

Surgical scars and stretch marks

Raised-edge or sunken scars and stretch marks on the abdomen, thighs, hips and arms.

Continuous wave

Fine lines and firmness

Firmer, tighter skin without surgery or injections.

Fine lines and wrinkles

Lines on the forehead, around the eyes and around the mouth.

Loss of firmness and sagging

Early laxity along the jawline, jowls and lower face.

Crepey under-eye skin

Thin, crinkly skin under the eyes and on the eyelids, treated with very shallow, precise needles.

Neck lines

Horizontal “necklace” lines and crepey skin on the neck.

  • Full face
  • Under eyes
  • Neck
  • Abdomen
  • Thighs and hips
  • Arms
  • Scalp

Sylfirm X can also be used on the scalp to improve circulation and support thinning hair. We will tell you at your consultation whether it is the right choice for you.

Sylfirm X for men and women

The same device, set up for the skin concerns that matter most to you.

For men

Clearer, smoother, sharper skin

Popular for acne scarring along the cheeks and jaw, enlarged pores, redness and broken capillaries, and early loosening around the jawline. Thicker male skin responds well to deeper settings.

  • Large pores
  • Redness
  • Jawline firmness
  • Neck
For women

A first choice for melasma and pigmentation, rosacea and flushing, fine lines around the eyes and mouth, crepey neck skin and stretch marks on the body.

Sylfirm X FAQs

Can’t see your question? Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll reply the same day.

What does Sylfirm X treat?

Sylfirm X treats pigmentation (including melasma and dark marks after spots), redness (rosacea, flushing and broken capillaries), acne scars, enlarged pores and rough texture, fine lines, loss of firmness and sagging, crepey under-eye skin, neck lines, surgical scars and stretch marks on the body, and it can be used on the scalp.

Can Sylfirm X help melasma?

Yes. Its pulsed wave mode is designed to target the abnormal blood vessels and damaged skin structure that feed melasma, without using laser or IPL. Melasma is a chronic condition, so the aim is to improve and control it rather than cure it, with daily sun protection and a home skincare plan.

Is Sylfirm X good for rosacea and redness?

Yes. Sylfirm X is used to reduce persistent redness, flushing and visible broken capillaries linked to rosacea. A course of treatments usually gives the best result, and we will advise on triggers and skincare at your consultation.

How much does Sylfirm X cost in London?

At Skin Story Clinic in Victoria, a single Sylfirm X session is £460. A course of 4 sessions is £1,280, which works out at £320 per session.

How many Sylfirm X sessions will I need?

Most people need 3 to 4 sessions for a significant improvement, spaced a few weeks apart. Deeper scarring or long-standing pigmentation can need more. We recommend the right plan at your free consultation.

Does Sylfirm X hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before treatment. Most people feel warmth, tingling or light pressure. Settings are adjusted to your skin and the area being treated.

Is there downtime after Sylfirm X?

Downtime is short. Expect redness, warmth or mild swelling for 1 to 2 days, and sometimes tiny scabs for a few days. You should avoid makeup for 24 hours, intense exercise for 48 hours and direct sun for 2 weeks.

Is Sylfirm X suitable for darker skin?

Sylfirm X treats pigmentation and redness without laser or IPL light, so it is often chosen for skin that needs extra care with heat- and light-based treatments. We assess your skin type and history at your consultation before recommending it.

Who is Sylfirm X not suitable for?

It is not suitable during pregnancy, while taking isotretinoin, with active infection or open sores in the area, with a gold allergy, with certain bleeding disorders or blood-thinning medication, or with an electronic implant such as a pacemaker near the treatment area. We check your medical history at your consultation.
